Here's what we're up against
and have been for years. The right wing media has poisoned the well against credible news sources and convinced all their minions that their only reliable source for "fair and balanced", "no spin" news is them. They targeted a specific viewership to eploit their fears for the sole purpose of cornering the market and reaping the advertising revenue from these lemmings that lap it all up like ice cream. That they were so easily convinced to only buy their books and suggested reading material, t-shirts and coffee mugs, is mindboggling at best

For years the right wing media machine has been on a mission, led by FUX News and talk radio to destroy the credibility of respected, established national news agencies like The NY Times, PBS, NPR, CNN, NBC, The LA Times and on and on. Unfortunately, they have been sucessful.

Can you imagine what kind of skewed vision you would have of the world if you denied yourself access to The NY Times, The Washington Post and television programming like FrontLine, American Experience and The McNeil Lehrer Report?

I have become very aware of the daily drumbeat by talking heads like sean hannity, bill o'reilly, glen beck and rush limbaugh, and have become very concerned by the ratcheting up of their rhetoric. I've even come to the conclusion that it is their intended purpose that something bad should happen to this admin. I worry for our president, I worry for all of us.

2. I worry for our President too. These people are capable of doing anything.
However, they have lost credibility with the American people which is the best thing Obama has going for him. I honestly worry about his safety from the crazies who follow Glen Beck to the higher ups who are now out of power and desperate to cover up their hideous actions. However, I'm sure he and Michelle realize this and are both strong people. Obama knows what he is up against. The best thing he can do is to depoliticize it and put it in Holder's hands.

3. The RW creates "Public myths" and "public presumptions".
The idea of 'public presumption'," he explained, "is akin to William McNeill's notion of 'public myth'...

Such presumptions are beliefs

(1) thought to be true (although not necessarily known to be true with certainty), and

(2) shared in common within the relevant political community.

6. 60+% of the country thinks the President is doing a good job.
I'd say they're a very vocal minority. That's all. They're like cats who, when threatened, hiss and puff up to try and make themselves look bigger--and they scream louder than those on their side with a brain.

7. Yeah!
but these entity has not helped themselves either, there where times when they should have been
asking the tuff and difficult question but caved, so, on that note, they have most of the blame
and responsibility.

Their job title is journalism, not lobbylism whereas the softball questions are asked and the
individual walks off laughing to the bank.

The only way to shut those fools up is to create a competition, a competition as loop sided as
they are, you fight fire with fire.

Give them something to think about, allow other left progressive voices chance to air their hate,
which in that case will even out the rhetoric.
