What is this meme on MSM about prosecuting ONLY lawyers?!
Where has Obama or anyone besides, I believe, Congressman Leahy who has said something along the lines of impeaching a lawyer? I mean seriously. They act like this is a fact and O has said something. I don't think O or AG Holder or anyone at the DOJ has said something of that nature?! But they keep pushing the meme. Chuckles Todd that arse...keeps shouting that and he's like O will have a political disaster on his hand and all I could think was how?

I don't want to defend Pelosi in this, but she didn't design the framework even if she spoke against it Cheney made clear that it was necessary and it's public knowledge that Dems and Repubs were very well aware of this shite. Pelosi probably and might have spoken against the acts during the meetings but couldn't do so publicly because of National Security issues.

In any event...the MSM are out of their minds and lying. I realize people like to say, "Oh just stop watching Morning Joe." Or whatever the program is on CNN---because CNN had one of their commentators for the Republican party who was angry about this being put out there and he's bad mouthing O. But we can't do that.

We can't let the MSM off the hook because we believe their liars. They're trying to twist the story and they do make it to the public. I think we have to hold them accountable. People here and the MSM like going after O, but MSM is best at manipulating the politics and the news. I think we need to push them and even if we hate them shut them up on their memes. Especially this thing about ONLY lawyers being prosecuted...

1. K&R!
The spinning is already going full tilt. Everyone that voted for Obama needs to treat this like it's election day. We must go after the media to keep them honest.

3. The M$M and the neocons best case scenario is to sacrifice the lawyers.
They are getting scared, so they are going to offer up the lawyers, IMO.

But, nobody has said it will stop there.

7. That's what I think. They're intentionally lying to the people. However..
I do think that they're in the way demeaning what Obama has done to being a witchhunt to the lawyers...when O said everyone is fair game except the CIA agents that acted out.

4. Both AG Holder and Pres. Obama have declared unequivocally no one is above the law.
The MSM can parse their language til the cows come home but it doesn't change the overreaching implication that an investigation will be pursued where it leads.

I think the incremental release of documents and those now free to speak coming forward is guiding the conversation in the public square. The guilty are already squirming, pointing fingers to try to mitigate their own complicity. At some point the realization will creep in that waterboarding is torture and there is precedent for remedy.

The public conversation has begun.

8. I know that..you know that...but they are pushing something else.
That's true....though what you said that the public conversation has begun and what I'm doing is lowering my expectations of the American people as I did when O was running for President..but they surprised me and they might do it again.

9. No doubt there will be plenty of pushback.
IMO Holder dismissing charges against Stevens was a prelude to this. He can now arguably (and, of course, they will argue) be construed as a fair nonpartisan arbiter.

I feel your reluctance to be optimistic; damn good precedent for that. But this is too big, too ugly, too ILLEGAL to let slide. IMO there are no gray areas in the systematic U.S. policy of detainee torture.

I am cautiously optimistic.
