The Nation Can Not "Move On" past the Crimes of Torture until Justice is Served
Only when those who have set the country on a course of torture and breaking of international laws the U.S. has built treaties upon have faced their crimes in a court of law will this country move on. If these criminals are not prosecuted or if they receive pardons then the people will see that the U.S. still is two Americas: an America for the little people and a different America for the rich and powerful. It would destroy Obama's presidency and and his legacy and he would violate everything he ran his campaign on.

If people took a moment to read Obama's writings or a moment to understand him, they'd realize that while he wants to the country to look forward, that we can not let the grievous crimes ordered by the previous administration go without the due process of our justice system. This is why Emanuel stepped out of line when he misspoke and this is why Obama had to retract his statement. This is also why the DoJ was up in arms over Emanuel's statements and why they are going to pursue prosecutions where they have the evidence to support a case.

Yes, Obama is for looking forward, for bipartisanship and reaching across the isle. But he's not going to subvert true justice and the due process of the laws of this land.
