I think President Obama should apologize for the plane flyover tomorrow night
during the press conference. I know he apologized already, but he needs to do it again during the presser so that all of America can see it. My two cents.

and this was a CLEAR mistake (that scared a lot of people)

7. He took responsibility. He shouldn't do it again on National TV
I don't see the point. He didn't run from it

4. And no doubt he will.

AFTER one of the press brings it up. I'd be surprised if he brought it up on his own.

8. You're making a bigger deal of this than needs be
It's over. Someone will probably ask him about it and he'll talk about it, but he doesn't need to bring it up. Apologize so all of America can see it? Hell, most of America probably isn't' even aware it happened.

12. Like the way George W. bUsh apologized for those 911 flights over NYC
and into NYC, after totally ignorning all the warnings?

10. The whole conniption is bullshit.
Is NY so scary these days that an errant plane causes such panic?
Get over it.

11. well, some New Yorkers are still spooked by what happened
they went through a lot, you know. I agree it's no big deal, but I still believe Obama should say something.

Just a bit sick of hand wringing over a friggin' airplane.

21. I don't think hope is being callous. I understand people's fear, but I don't believe it's as big of
an outrage as it's being turned into. Certainly nothing to fire someone over(As some are suggesting.). Of course that's just my opinion. I don't live in New York, but we all watched those planes fly into the buildings over and over, and I don't expect to be notified of every low flying plane.
I think Hope, was just trying to make the point that fear is something to be overcome, and that it shouldn't be something we flog those who inadvertently remind us of it over.

Again, just my opinion, and I do think it was a bit thoughtless. Maybe it was some sort of city-wide immersion therapy...

25. I couldn't believe it, either
I guess too many years of fear programming by Bush, Cheney, Ashcroft, et al have left us in a sorry ass state.

14. I'd appreciate hearing that the approval channel has changed so it won't happen again
in terms of wasting fuel, money, and the attention of the Air Force, FAA, and emergency responders.

I don't care as much about an apology from Obama personally, but I think the guy who approved it should go, or at the very least whatever communication channels were broken have been fixed.

conducting an investigation.

29. One apology for something that isn't his fault is classy and responsible. Two would be just
counterproductive, giving everyone the impression that he really feels guilty about something.

New Yorkers I know weren't fazed by any of that to begin with. The press is showing the worst clips to make a story out of it.

If Obama apologizes for anything, let it be for the government wasting the money on another series of photos of Air Force One. Everyone knows what the fucking plane looks like, and we didn't need to spend $328K plus whatever the fighter escort cost for something that could have been effectively photoshopped.
