4. Can anyone bring me up to speed?
I was pretty swamped workwise today and didn't have time to hear much--had tv on in the background and only heard about Specter switching. What moved her confirmation finally after the GOP held it up--even with the Swine Flu situation--what finally got them off their butts?

6. I'm not sure but....
.... it was generally assumed she'd be confirmed today, even before the Specter thing and I THINK even last week before the swine flu thing.

I mean, it's not just a coincidence that the White House had a reception for the Cabinet Secs. tonight.

7. Reid had filed for cloture. We won the
cloture vote. The time for debating was used up, and there had to be a vote. She got confirmed.
