Obama = good cop. Holder = bad cop?
Edited on Thu Apr-30-09 05:18 PM by Cant trust em
I'm probably not the first person to post on this theory, but I think that Obama's "let's not look behind" message allows him to not look partisan is able to pass that off onto Holder. The AG can deal with the prosecutions and Obama can work on policy. When people ask Obama what's going on, he can always just say "Hey, talk to the Justice Department".

2. That's what the AG is for. Besides, this should not be a political witch hunt.
It should be about up holding the law. Obama should not have to waste time chasing the gutter rats down.

6. I could see the post mortem breaking down like this:
Mr. President, Was it your idea to open this investigation?
O: No, it was the AG's
Do you approve?
O: I discussed it with the AG. H has decided that this investigation needs to be pursued for the good of the nation. I am not going to interfere with the DOJ business.

10. i agree
If we want 2 terms of a President Obama then he needs to stay out of this and let Holder do this on his own.

11. Pretty much, yeah. Good analogy.
I posted a few times that it's inappropriate for a new administration (in the person of the president) to come out strongly against the former one, that it just isn't done.

But also that by releasing the memos he set into motion things that will take on their own life.

Good cop-Bad cop is a good analogy.
