I'm worried that they are imploding on purpose
Seriously, they can't be this fucking stupid.

Virgina Foxx calling the Shepherd slaying a hoax?

Michelle Bachman opening her mouth?

Bringing back Newt?

Heading your rebranding effort with Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, and Sarah Palin?

Anything Michael Steele has to say?

This is like a bad April Fool's day joke. Maybe I'm being paranoid but they got to have some sort of plan with all this craziness.

8. It's that and one other thing...
The population as a whole has moved away from many social issues of the Republican party base. The Republican dilemma: Lose the base or lose everyone else. They can't have both.

3. They have been continually imploding for years
But they could always divert peoples attention with fear. Now that they no longer have the bully pulpit, everything is laid bare.

5. Who out of their cast of characters is left to bring any sense to that
party? I can't think of anyone. So they're going with what they have, and the same old mentality that goes along with that.

23. The right-wingers actually believe what they are saying
Edited on Thu Apr-30-09 10:49 PM by sampsonblk
Its too ridiculous to believe. But its true.

They really believe that the reason they are out of power is because they didn't stick to their principles. How dumb can they be?

9. It's not stupidity, it's fear (and it's not an act).
They are afraid because they aren't in power anymore; because they can't control the rest of us; can't make the rules and laugh in our faces.

They don't know how to be rational and reasonable.

11. It's an unprecedented level of batshit induced by an unprecedented opponent
It's like watching an irrational hothead fight with a levelheaded opponent. The cooler the levelheaded person remains, the crazier it drives the hothead that they can't rattle them.

13. I find it refreshing....
They're letting their batshit craziness hang out in all its naked glory for the world to see.

Now, for the "moral" hypocrisy to come to the fore more...that's what I look forward to. THAT is when the uber implosions can really start. Larry Craig type of hypocrisy...more Palin hypocrisy, etc., etc. The Moral Minority crowd.

What have they done that hasn't turned to shit?

America is fed up with them, mostly, and the GOP brand is like being offered a dose of the clap.
Nobody wants it, and they running away in droves from it.

20. I also agree they have always been this stupid. People are just now seeing it in large scale.
The reason it seems like they all just went of the deep end recently is largely due to the fact that 10-15 years ago you didn't have the popularity of the Internet or alternative, independent media covering politics like we have today. You basically just had the Corp Media that was owned and controlled by the Conservatives. Back then most of the country was still focused more heavily on social issues. Since most of the country was white, the Republicans had the advantage of being able to play on white Americans fears. You know like African Americans are going to take your jobs, they are moving to the burbs to scare your children, and lets not forget about those brown skin people. We need to send them back to where they came from. Now though the country has changed. With the advent of the Internet and it's popularity more people are starting to see just what the GOP really has to offer. People like Virginia Foxx are now on prime display and the Corp Media can no longer hide this from most Americans like they could do in the past.

Now the GOP has basically been reduced to a party of old white people desperately trying to hold onto to the America they once knew. An America where black and brown skinned people were kept in their place. The more the country progresses and changes for the better the more desperate these old bitter white people get. Exhibit numero uno: Tea Bag parties. Need I say anymore.

Granted it started out with semi intelligent liars and has degraded into semi coherent liars.
