If Dems completely take over, then maybe...
the party system will end.

People will no longer have to worry about Dem vs Repub

What are they gonna do, what are we gonna do.

It will all be about the issues, and character and actual background.

Is this a dream? I this even a good idea?

2. There's another word for a one-party system...
But i'm not worried about that.

There will always be debate between at least two sides on nearly every issue - even though the names and uniforms of the teams may change.

3. We have a long way to go before Dems completely take over
Maybe if 2012 is a blowout, the Republicans could collapse, but it isn't likely. They've come back from worse before (see FDR and the Great Depression).

4. No, it isn't.
A one party country becomes a totalitarian state. There should always be more than one political party.

5. The day the GOP goes under is the day the Democratic Party splits in two.
And this may be a good thing. Toss the GOP over a cliff, taking all the religous whackos and fascist neocons with them.

Then Even Bayh and other conservadems fork off from the Democratic Party, form the new conservative party, which is far saner and more centrist.

The whole country will take a big jump to the left and things will go much more smoothly.

I can't go for a single-party system - too much groupthink and suppression of dissent.
