Is it possible Anthony Kennedy steps down in Obama's two terms?
Scalia seems too stubborn, but Kennedy, while right-leaning, is fairly pragmatic and I don't think he'd be opposed to a more liberal replacing him on the court. I think, outside the obvious with John Paul Stevens and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, he's the one I see most likely leaving in the next eight years.

1. He's only 72. Maybe.
I have my doubts though.

I agree with you about Scalia though. Scalia would sell his soul to Cheney to stay.

5. Well then, we'll just have to hope a Democrat follows Obama. ;)

4. They're all old enough that they could step down Thomas, Roberts, and Alito aside

7. I believe when group dynamics kicks in at least 6 of current court will leave
before the new term in Oct. The problems, court cases are totally new and so will the court be.

10. Maybe given his age, but not anytime soon
I could see Kennedy maybe leaving if he got some serious health issue like Cancer or something that might make him decide to just enjoy the few years of his life left in retirement. Other than that though, I don't see why he'd retire.

11. That, I doubt.
Kennedy seems to relish his role as swing vote.

12. I think the next will be Stevens
Because of her advanced age, unfortunately. He is one of my favorite on the bench. Perhaps my favorite.
