A report on “Rightwing Extremism” that upset conservatives has been withdrawn and is being rewritten, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told lawmakers yesterday. “It was not authorized to be distributed. It had not even completed its vetting process,” she said, calling the incident “probably the worst thing” to happen at DHS.

3. As an analyst It would impact the morale of the team I work on if the

head of my department said some shit like that. "It was not authorized to be distributed. It had not even completed its vetting process." It would have been one thing if she meant that it needed some copy-editing before sending out. It's entirely another to "vet" something for public consumption. Orwellian in fact.

So what a few whiny asses poohoo themselves into a stupor over it? It is what it is and if you can't take what is, then you shouldn't be leading the organization.

They didnt just have a right wing fanatics report. They had reports for "left wing fanatics" "black power advocates" "radical nordic mysticism"? They list left wing extremists and internet terrorists. They want to keep 'an eye out' for people like that.

New Homeland Security memo lists black power, shaved-head Doc Marten wearers ‘extremist threats’

It’s not just right-wing “radical” groups on the Department of Homeland Security’s black list anymore.

Another embarrassing Homeland Security memo (pdf here) detailing those the agency believes are extremists has leaked. The first was sent to police and warned of radical groups on the right; the second is sure to offend an even broader array of those involved in activism.

The memo, dated March 26, 2009, is titled “Domestic Extremism Lexicon,” and came after the original memo fingering right-wing groups as a threat.

Among those now listed as dangerous extremists include: Mexican separatists, “black power” advocates, “racial Nordic mysticism” practitioners and black nationalists.

Homeland Security told The Daily Beast’s Benjamin Sarlin, who posted the Lexicon, that the memo had been recalled almost as soon as it had been sent out.

twisted the message went on Faux, getting their cooperation
to play the message 24/7??????

I am being sincere not meanspirited here, but how many Democrats
run and hide under their desks on the hill when anything controversial
is said regarding Liberal or Democrat?????

This is why GOP always seem to come out on top. The GOP will get in
the face of the News Media and back them down.

The Centrists are so busy trying to out "Me TOO" the GOP that the
Media has no choice but support the GOP Position

The Democrats had better start being concerned about the low ratings
of Congress. They just might get the shock of their life the next
election. Obama's coattails just might not help them. Democrats on the Hill, start showing you believe in something.

So far the Senate is disheartening on HealthCare. It does not really
matter what the House does. The Senate has the final word and can
throw a wrench in anything the houws does.
