We foiled the plot with good old fashioned police work! Talking about the one with the 4 guys who planned to blow up a synagogue in NY.

1. but, but, but,how is that possible?
it can't be. it must be an elaborate set-up run by George Soros & MoveOn.org to make Obama look good.

4. She called them "terrorists" and I HAVE heard them mention the jihadi aspect of it
during the day. I think it's propaganda to try to scare us and it's good that they're pointing out that they were caught without waterboarding or other torture.

3. If this country simply had more faith in his law enforcement, we wouldn't be such cowards
I cannot believe how cowardly and gullible Americans have become, succumbing to a draft-dodging, fear mongering DICK!!! :puke:

7. They call it a "terror plot" and I'm GLAD they called it that-just to prove Cheney wrong.
His way is NOT the way to keep us safe.

11. And how would you define a terrorist?
I think anyone who is threatening mass destruction by blowing up buildings pretty much can be defined as a terrorist. Seems they had something against Jewish people (their target was a synogogue) so that solidifies the definition.

Just because they met in prison instead of a church or mosque or some other gathering doesn't make them any less of a terrorist.

8. And it was stopped without all those "Terra-alert Color Code" threats
Those were annoying - it was like the boy crying "wolf" all the time. After awhile you'd hear we were 'orange' and think 'who cares'.

12. Yeah, we've been making
that point on DU for a couple of days. I saw a local newscast from Albany where Bloomberg and Kelly were thanking all the stellar participants who were work working on this for almost a year..it was very low key and not hysterical at all. Very Professional.

17. Torture-mongers know that torture doesn't help gather useful information
They just want to satisfy their raw obsession with inflicting pain on others.

You ask any of them, they'll say stuff like: "Well, these terrorists deserve to be tortured for what they did! They do even worse to our people."

So it has nothing to do with intel at all. It's all about using cruel and unusual punishment to satisfy their violent inner desires.

20. And it's MORE than that...
torture is ALSO is used to get FALSE information. Cheney had the CIA waterboard KSM and ask him if there was a link between Iraq and al Qaeda. He wanted/needed a "confession" that there was. He finally got a "confession" from al Libi-a FALSE confession. But he "admitted" it to get the torture to stop.
