the media.

While VP Biden has been traveling across the world to restore our image in the world, the MSM has been covering - non-stop - the last Vice President, his scare tactics and his lies. WTF is going on here?

Oh, and tomorrow - Biden will travel to Lebanon. Just thought I'd tell you because you won't hear a word about it on any of the major networks. The BBC, however, has been covering Biden's trip non-stop.

Excuse me while I :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Here - this is what a REAL VP looks and acts like:

Notice the lack of an evil grin.

Meeting with leaders in Belgrade.

Greeted by Albanian children.

With the Serbian Delegation

This is how our CURRENT VP was greeted.

With Kosovo's prime minister.

This guy even has a pic of Biden on his shirt :P - I don't recall any t-shirts with Cheney's pic on it, do you?

What is WRONG with our media?

on edit - thanx to DUer Muttocracy for keeping us informed

7. Yeah I posted it on Saturday
Didn't get much interest. It's kind of not good that people are still more interested in Obama's speeches than the actual policy he and his administration are implementing.

8. I don't think that people know all that this administration is accomplishing.
The media tells the same stories over and over again.

IF they reported on stories such as this, maybe people would be more interested. That's my take on it.

10. So, what is Joe Biden doing on this tour?
What is his mission besides just showing up (and hopefully not making more gaffes)?

12. Kosovo became an independent nation in Feb 2008.
Here, read this, I don't think people in Kosovo are as concerned with Biden's "gaffes" as you obviously are -

From the BBC:

On the final stage of his three-day tour of the Balkans, Mr Biden became the most senior US official to visit Kosovo since it declared independence in February 2008.

The US and more than 50 other countries have recognised its independence, but more than 100 have not, including Serbia and Russia.

"Kosovo's independence was and remains today in my view, in the view of my government, the only viable option for stability in the region," he told a special sitting of the parliament in Pristina.

"And your independence - as I've said in the countries I have visited - your independence, is irreversible, absolutely irreversible," he added to applause from the ethnic Albanian-dominated assembly.

Earlier, after holding talks with President Fatmir Sejdiu, Prime Minister Hashim Thaci and other leaders, Mr Biden said he had been awarded the Golden Medal of Freedom, Kosovo's highest honour.

"I don't deserve it, but I received it on behalf of the United States," said the vice-president, who many Kosovans credit with helping them gain independence while he was a senator.

11. No, people really aren't interested
I have an accomplishments page and probably 1% of the people go looking for accomplishments as go looking for a big speech. The Notre Dame speech had 3 times as many people looking for it as the Town Hall in New Mexico, and compared to accomplishments or a specific bill, it's 100 to 1. Otherwise people are looking for info on Michelle or something in the stimulus that will benefit them personally. I keep up with how people get to this site, but also check in on Google and Twitter searches. Americans are really shallow.

13. Yeah - agreed.
We really have become of a soundbite mentality.

But, I still have to wonder, if journalists like KO would report on that interesting hearing in the SFRC, or on this trip, if more people would pay attention. I don't know. It's frustrating.

15. It sure would help
I wish I had more time because I would like to keep up with all of it. A lot of people are looking for a specific program for moms going back to school for instance, so I have been trying to finish a page all the stimulus programs that will most benefit individuals. It is so ridiculous that the media hounds over the same stupid stuff, night after night.

19. The media coverage of Cheney is appalling - but they were always...
...part of the perversion ~ the war in Iraq couldn't have happened without the constant drum beat provided by the media.

I haven't seen even one clip re Biden's trip on msnbc, though I'm always multi-tasking so I could have missed the mini coverage.

34. That's the corporatemedia's sole job..
Manipulate and Manufacture but I think many many are waking up to their brainwashing techniques and the activists on DU play a large part in holding the "media" accountable. As well as Orgs like "Media Matters" and all the fact finding sites on the net.

23. Yes. Cause I watch BBC World News in the morning.
Even though they cover sports and stuff, they still manage to share relevant news. With little to no spin. Odd how they're not somehow helpless to resist the pull to do a bunch of clowning, slanted nonsense "for ratings".

24. Ya know - I used to watch BBC during the primaries.
I got so sick of how our media was telling us who to vote for
so I would watch the BBC to get the facts, not the spin.

I think it's time for me to turn off msnbc for awhile and start watching BBC...except for Big Eddie...
He is really fighting for the working class, I really enjoy his show.

38. The MSM is controlled by conservatives and the very wealthy. I barely get my news from them anymore.
Most of it is on the internet. Most people these days do not watch the news and to keep any viewers they go with the most controversial stuff, not necessarily what is important in the world.

Joe does good work for us and for Obama. Cheney has tried to destroy the US. I think the difference is clear and more people would rather take a good decent man who makes a so called "gaffe" once in a while as our VP then a lying, disgusting pig of a torturer.
