For those of you who can't watch the video, here's the script:

SCRIPT

Girl: “To close it? To close it not?”

President Obama: “Guantanamo? That's easy. ... Close down Guantanamo.”

Girl: “To close it? To close it not?”

Sen. Jim Webb: “I don’t believe they should come to the United States.”

Chyron: “I don’t believe they should come to the United States.”

Sen. Harry Reid: “We will never allow terrorists released into the United States.”

Girl: “To close it? To close it not?”

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs: “We have made some hasty decisions that are now going to take some time to unwind. And closing Guantanamo Bay obviously is one of those decisions.”

President Lyndon Johnson: “These are the stakes...”

Barack Obama: “Guantanamo? That's easy. ... Close down Guantanamo.”

--------------------------
They of course left out THIS part of Gibbs' answer where he clarified the answer that they played in the ad:

Q And I want to get back to what you said earlier --

Q Thank you. All right. And you said hasty -- you talked about hasty decisions tomorrow, that it's going to take some time to unwind. Are you talking about the President's hasty decisions or the previous administration's hasty decision as it regards Guantanamo?

MR. GIBBS: No, no, no, I'm sorry, let me be -- good question. My boss might want to know the answer to that. (Laughter.) No, no, I'm discussing decisions that were made in the previous administration --

Q You were not referring to the executive order --

MR. GIBBS: No, no, no --

Q -- as a hasty decision.

MR. GIBBS: No.

Q Absolutely not?

MR. GIBBS: Thank you for letting me clarify that before I go see the boss later this afternoon.

3. Fear
It's still all they've got. The Republicans continue to demonstrate how they can't freakin' get out of the past. Rerun after rerun. That's all there is to 'em.

5. Yup. And they CLAIM they're DONE looking backwards. But they have nothing BUT
things from the past in their minds. Otherwise, why would they have Cheney and Gingrich as their representatives? They obviously think fear still works just because Cheney's approval rating went up a few points after his fear-mongering interviews all over tv.

8. Approval ratings
I seriously think it's just that the Republicans are so desperate for a leader - any leader - that when Cheney stepped in to fill the void, that 30-something percent coalesced around him for lack of any better options. Honestly, who else do they have? Newt? Rush? Boehner? STEELE?They have NO ONE. No one to call their leader.

Brings to mind the idea that if you kill the queen of an ant or bee colony, the rest of the them just wander off and die. I"m not sure if that's really true, but it's all I can think of with the GOP right now. They have no "queen bee," and they're all buzzing around looking for someone to save them.

In the words of Nelson Muntz: HA ha!

4. From what I have read this ad left a lot of nasty feelings in the
country when it originally aired. Once again the Repugs don't think of historical implications of their actions.

No need for us to help.....they are screwing themselves just fine...

And for anyone to think that closing Gitmo will cause nuclear destruction they'd have to be hardcore Repubs. anyway.

10. and they were too cheap to hire a real kid
to do the voiceover. The "girl" reciting "close it" has got to be at least 30 (and doing an obvious cheap and lousy job of trying to sound like a kid).
