Y'know what I'd love to see from the majority in both houses (well, the Senate mainly)

At least some bravado that they're in charge now. When the loons were in charge they didn't give a fuck. They crammed any nutjob nominee down our throats and told us to suck it.

Why are we still acting like we have to make sure Republicans will not hate on our nominees too much? If they're going to filibuster Sotomoyer say, let them. I doubt they will but if they do I'd be impressed if we're able to end it. If they decide to go that route I can't see the Alito outcome happening.

They should nominate Michael Moore for the next opening and just say, "Fuck you, what are you going to do about it?"

- this goes for other matters too, especially the "looking soft" issues.

1. the problem is the media, 24 hour cable especially
When the pubs were in charge any dissent was limited to very short clips with disparaging commentary before and aftyer. They made it look like any opposition was small and disprited. Now that they are the minority they are doing all they can to make the paltry number of pubs look like the party in charge.
Unfortunately I sometimes think the Dems believe them.
Harry Reid in particular.

2. I undertstand, but if they have a spine
and the savvy that Obama has mostly shown they can overcome that.

Every time the buy into the Repub line they look weaker.
