Obama touts 100 days of economic stimulus

President Obama marked another 100-day anniversary Wednesday -- this time the anniversary of the enactment of his $787 billion economic stimulus package.

President Obama said Wednesday that the country is already seeing results from his economic stimulus plan.

Addressing a crowd of military servicemen and women at Nevada's sprawling Nellis Air Force Base, Obama said that "we are already seeing results" from the federal government's economic boost.

Among other things, he said, the spending has saved or created roughly 150,000 jobs while providing sorely needed infrastructure repairs and fueling increased demand for businesses.

"But this is just the beginning," he said.

"There are still too many Americans out of work, and too many who worry that their job may be next. ... That is why we will continue to implement the (stimulus plan) as quickly and effectively as possible over the next two years. ... And that is why my administration will continue an unrelenting, day-by-day effort to fight for economic recovery on all fronts."

Obama made his remarks after touring the base's "photovoltaic array" -- 72,000 solar panels that generate more than 30 million kilowatt-hours of electricity every year, according to the White House.

The panels supply roughly 25 percent of the power used at the base, which houses and employs 12,000

1. 150,000 jobs? I haven't seen one single job
where are all these projects? So far the only thing I see is a lot of red ink.

3. Eastern Ohio, WV and Western PA
I don't know of any stimulus project started, I know of one but the Administration hasn't released any money. This area has been in a recession for 30 years I would think we would see something. Oh I got a $25 dollar raise in my unemployment, it doesn't do me any good though it just saves the Company $25 in SUB payments.

4. The devil's in the details, in this case the "saved or created" bit
That could mean that it created one job and "saved" 149,999.

We have a paving project on I-295 funded by the stimulus that is very obvious by the traffic backups it is causing.

5. There's a project sponsored by the stimulus bill like two minutes from my house.
They're tearing up/repairing a long stretch of highway. It's kinda cool to see it in action.

7. The problem is very little will be spent on
infrastructure, to make a noticeable difference here you would have to create several thousand jobs.
