Except in the reverse?????

To clarify, the wingnuts are speculating that Judge Sotomayor (with absolutely ZERO basis for the charge) would ignore the law and make decisions based on her "feelings". Putting aside how silly this charge is, has anyone read Jeffrey Toobin's recent piece on Chief Justice Roberts in the most recent New Yorker?

http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2009/05/25/090525fa_fact_toobin

The key passage:

In every major case since he became the nation’s seventeenth Chief Justice, Roberts has sided with the prosecution over the defendant, the state over the condemned, the executive branch over the legislative, and the corporate defendant over the individual plaintiff. Even more than Scalia, who has embodied judicial conservatism during a generation of service on the Supreme Court, Roberts has served the interests, and reflected the values, of the contemporary Republican Party.

(SNIP)

Simply put, Roberts can easily be accused of ignoring the law and ruling based on his LACK OF EMPATHY. Not saying this means anything, but it's just a thought.

1. Certainly activist, their mantra, in trying to re-engineer right as part of Reagan revolution.
Any way to muzzle or weaken him?
