For fuck sakes, Keith...
Stop focusing on Rush so much, Keith. You are just giving him the attention he so desperately seeks. There is nothing wrong with talking about him for a minute a show, but segment after segment about him? The dancing blob?

I love your show Keith, you average 1 million a night so obviously you are doing well in the ratings, but it gets tiring seeing that fat blob on your show every day.

Looks to me like he's trying to goad Rush into completely flipping out and shooting himself in the foot. It seems the more Keith keeps poking him, the stupider his comments get. One of these days, he's bound to go off the deep end.

I actually enjoy Keith's battles with Pigboy, Billo the Clown, Glenn Dreck and the others. It's comic relief, and I really need that these days.

33. Damned straight!
The more Rush BLIMPaugh and his idiot listeners are exposed for the hate-spewing, out-of-touch, racist mental midgets that they are, the better it is for the Democrats. Rush is the best thing the Dems have going for them, because he keeps the Republican party on the lunatic fringe.

BTW, the bouncing Rush is HILARIOUS!!! You can just imagine how Rush goes ballistic every time it's used, because he specifically mentioned (in his "challenge" to MSNBC) that he didn't like them playing that CPAC video.

Also, can you imagine how frustrated Billo The Clown must be, with Rush getting all the attention, for a change? Between BLIMPaugh and Glenn Beck, poor Billo must be feeling awfully neglected. He'll have to start talking even more insane crap than usual, to compete with those two raving lunatics.

Keith needs to keep exposing Rush's paranoid conspiracy theories, because it keeps the media talking...and the more that Joe Q. Public thinks that Rush speaks for the GOP (which he does), the more the GOP will be considered a haven for crazy people (which it is).

Give 'em hell, Keith...Lord knows they've put US through hell for years, and have it coming to them!!

35. It is a brilliant strategy. I am finding it hard to understand the angst
towards the efforts being made by Schultz/Olbermann/Maddow here on DU. Their approach is exactly what Democrats have been hoping for in the MSM since the rise of the Fox News Dem Bashing Dynasty...now we finally have it and Dems complain? If you're one of those displeased with the Schultz, Olbermann, Maddow lineup...try Fox News...maybe some Billo is exactly what you're craving.

....and I love the bouncing effigy of Rush....it must make Rush crazy every time it is up because as someone else noted, Rush was not happy with the coverage of his speech and the way he acted on stage, only makes the point that Rush has a few loose bolts shaking around in his head.

And I agree that Keith, Ed, and the others need to cover Rush - tonight Keith even questioned if Rush was becoming insane. When you see the coverage of Rush, you really have to wonder if Keith doesn't have a point.

48. I really like those bits that expose Rush's poisonous rantings.
Rush says some hideous things and I find it helpful that they are exposed to a broader audience.

People may think Rush is just another commentator, reviewing political news from a different perspective, but he does far more aimless rambling to stoke his listeners' fears.

Without Keith's exposing it, I wouldn't have known Rush was perpetrating the rumor-mongering about President Obama wanting to close down car dealerships that donated to Republicans. (Thanks to Keith and the Huffington Post and Nate Silver, I can see how totally ridiculous that is, since car dealerships give a lot more to Republicans in general, and they've done the research to demonstrate that.)

The bouncing Limbaugh icon is merely a response to Rush's request that MSNBC reporters stop exposing his lies. Republican leaders may have to bow to Rush's every need and apologize for making any criticism of him, but the rest of us don't have to. The bouncing Rush says "Sorry, pal, no can do," can't leave your poisonous lies to stand unchallenged.

I understand the abstract notion that criticizing someone on air gives them more media attention, which you wouldn't want to do in the abstract-- but Rush already gets millions of media dollars and millions of listeners.

If it is understood more broadly how vicious and unfounded his commentaries are, yet how they are still sometimes picked up by Republican legislators and woven into their speeches, that will help more Americans understand the quality of right wing rhetoric.

What has made Rush and Sean so powerful is that they spew lie after lie without ever being challenged on it. Keith challenges them every day, and it's good for his show and our cause.

When one side of the debate can lie at will and be taken as credible opposition, it distorts our democracy.

52. It seems to help Democrats in the short run to keep Limbaugh in the spotlight
The more the voting public associates Republicans with his intolerance, the harder it will be for them to mount a serious opposition over the next couple of years.

Historically, most presidents only get their agenda work done in the first 2 years in office. Everything after that is a rearguard action or handling sundry international crises. Reagan, Clinton, and both Bushes all fell into this pattern--I doubt Obama will be all that different.

...especially since it does seem to be getting under Rush's skin.

I think Keith has a knack for that -- witness his effect on O'Reilly. I think that's why he's pursuing this Rush thing so much: he senses that it's getting on Rush's last nerve.

Those videos of Rush jerking around like the big fat jerk that he is, can only serve to cement a negative picture in the minds of those who watch. And that has to be a good thing. IMO
