All DU'ers need to watch this "Inside the White House" thingy that Brian Williams did.

I thought it was well worth the watch for the "nuances and in you face" along with the "Idealism" we who support Obama would want to see.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30892505/

You do need to have a lot of bandwith to watch it all...and I wish there was a transcript. Maybe someone has a post to transcript..but without being able to "see the faces" one loses the interaction and the "credibility factor" of watching "body language."

Anyway...I watched it all..and those who can do it should try to do it. There's much there for us Dems on the Left and Right to see...and to think about with our NEW PRESIDENT.

The link...once again..and it does take a long time to go through. I'm sure "Proud Patriots of DU" will spend that time, viewing. And it's important to view for both us Lefties and DLC'ers to see what's going on in the NEW White House.

BTW...it's worth a second and third watch if you are a "hard core politico." (like many of us who've been on DU since "Stolen Election of 2000."

Well...excuse my effusive blathering..it's still worth the watch......

2. What, exactly, is it that you expect us to see in this?
You do accept that a piece created by the corporate media, with approval and orchestration by the White House, reflecting the establishment biases and assumptions that dominate discourse as dictated by the financial elite...

... basically serves as little more than a piece of voyeuristic infotainment.

I'm only on Part 5 of 6. Perhaps part 6 will be the "amazing" part.

3. If it's so awful, why are you watching the whole thing?

I find your post incredibly entertaining.

9. Did you really work on the production?
If so, that's great! I found the entire thing fun and informative.

Also, welcome to DU. :hi:

21. I'm sure you do.
No one suggests that there is some kind of conscious conspiracy going on. If you work that far into the industry you only get there if you already assume without really thinking about it the basic premises that the media establishment requires.

There are no meetings in backrooms discussing how to be "evil" today. Just people who are so bought into the propaganda of the elite that it never occurs to them to think any different. And of course, when confronted, they find it "entertaining." :) Because to them, its all crazy. "Crazy" means, standing in contrast to prevailing truths.

7. I loved it!
I knew the Obama White House was a bustle of activity, but actually seeing it was another thing altogether. I highly recommend it. I think it's probably the most candid view of the White House and what goes on inside ever seen.

10. No thanks. And not watching it doesn't make me impure or disloyal.
I just don't find stuff like this entertaining or informative. I don't care about Presidential dogs, Presidential children, First Ladies, or any of that stuff. I care about his performance in the Oval Office. Nothing else. I guess that I'll never get that "Proud Patriots of DU" decoder ring...

You go ahead though; I'd never tell anyone else what they "need" to watch, or what they should avoid. Enjoy.

16. Then you missed the important parts. What this showed was how
a day in the WH is organized, who's involved, what meetings take place, etc. It wasn't all fluff.

18. I don't find that type of stuff particularly enlightening. That's just me.
It might not have been "all fluff", but I'm just not that interested. What interests me is not what goes on "behind the scenes", but what goes on in front of the world.

to see how daily decisions are made. Maybe that is why I always liked The West Wing...

13. Watched both the original airing and the repeat - good stuff
...and I'm pretty sure that in the Friday night repeat, they snuck in a 30-second bit about Bo (naming his breed and the fact that he was a gift from Ted Kennedy) that wasn't in the original airing. ;-)

Some of the facts and backstories about the staff I knew, but some I didn't. I like knowing some of the stories behind this team.

And it was cool to see the sheer level of activity.

Edited on Mon Jun-08-09 07:29 PM by KoKo
we don't know what he had...besides Fallwell supporters and the Republican Christian Evangelical Youth..running around there.

I guess they have very young people because they work hard and don't have families that demand their time.

 Also many had built up relationships that allowed them to be trustworthy with the Campaign...

Still...it would be good to see a few folks past 48 roaming around there... Just for Diversity's sake..

28. Enjoyed the good parts, but..
There was some corporate RW media sniping being employed.. They ragged on Biden for what seemed like about 5 minutes, trashy stuff there. Some other nasty points made, otherwise lots of fun as long a Droopy (Williams) wasn't on camera..

That smarmy asshole is so full of himself..
