2. Two wars, no action on gay rights, bank bailouts, no health care reform deserving of the word...
But you have a picture. Bully for you.

7. Yeah, he's done nothing but sit at Camp David with his thumb up his ass.
:eyes:

Was there a deadline that I missed? If my calculations are correct, he's now 5 months into a four-year term.

I myself will take stock of things around mid-term given the scope of what has to be addressed, the information to which we the public are not privy, and the resistance he gets from a significant number of Republicans and (worthless IMO) Blue-Dog Democrats.

Tough fucking crowd, eh?

The same few assholes come into a positive thread and try to shit on it.

Now, we don't do that, we might try to offer a different point of view but we're nice about it.

Don't let it get you down, this is the way life is.

If it wasn't for people like you and the other great DUers, the ones with common sense, this place would be a bit too much free republic or correntewire.

:pals:

You don't speak for anyone but yourself and your hatred is not welcomed here.

17. Bait and Switch, demanding rights doesn't give you license to hate on others.
Edited on Wed Jun-17-09 01:03 AM by NYC_SKP
Or to call names.

So you start something with name calling and insults, and when the response comes you're all "oh, i'm just demanding rights".

The ends doesn't justify the means and anger is counter productive.

fail.

I do not advocate killing flies, but that was pretty awesome. He was sending a message to Ahmadinejad and that crazy N. Korean guy. It was terrifying. He even ordered the cameraman to take a close up of the lifeless fly. Holy shit, what have we unleashed???

Oh yeah, I forgot this: :sarcasm:

4. BUT you don't got it
right this fucking instant. I want my sacred cow, and I want it now, the way I want it, the color I want it. And I don't care if I don't understand all the underlying information to which I'm not privy on which you base your decision as to why I can't have it NOW! I want to whine and misunderstand and mistrust and jump to conclusions NOW. Okay?
:sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm:

Meanwhile, that picture is just hot.

13. I gave Bush two years before I fully turned on him, and I didn't vote for him.
I voted for the future Nobel Prize winner in Al Gore in 2000.

Yet, Bush became POTUS, chosen by 5 old men in black robes.

Still, I gave him time to try to prove himself worthy. After 9/11, I was with him, hoping he'd turn into a good President.

I supported him going into Afghanistan, after Al Qaeda, and the Taliban that housed those fugitives.

Then in 2002 he started talking about the Patriot Act and going into Iraq. I began to disagree with him more and more.

When he invaded Iraq in March 2003, I was fully against him.

I gave Bush two full years of benefit of the doubt, and I didn't even vote for him.

I'll give President Obama at least two full years.

If, by 2011, the economy doesn't seem to be getting better, if the financial system doesn't have a new set of regulations, if we don't have healthcare reform, if DOMA and DADT aren't at least being publicly worked against (meaning trying to repeal them), if we aren't out of Iraq in a major way (note, major, not completely), then I'll seriously reconsider my support for him.

That gives President Obama 18 more months.

Makes me wonder how "invested" they really are. Do you take a new job and then quit after 2 weeks because it's just too tough?

20. Yes! What happened to the "Discussion" Forums?
I have no problem discussing any topic.
In fact I come/came here to be informed and Learn about issues that I'm sure others have more information than I do.

It is becoming extremely difficult to do that anymore -- All I see on most posts that are hot button topics is "Shut the F Up!"
or "I'm never going to vote for Obama again!"

That kind of talk is so beneath the quality of DU and does not lead to solutions for topics that are/would be/should be/once were near and dear to our hearts.

I sincerely believe that with people of good will we could make a huge difference in the fabric of our country again.

Can we have a FORUM that can have "New Rules?"

It would just be for people of good will that are sincerely trying to find solutions instead of put downs.

DU is driving me nuts, what the F is wrong with you all? The president has a shit load to take care of, can we at least acknowledge that and give him a break! We are suppose to be his cheer leading team, get behind him. We might disagree with some things, but we have no idea of why, or the background of compromises he has to make on some of the judgments. CHILL THE HELL OUT!
