While the media isn't looking - Obama approval tracking upward for last week
Back to a damn fine 58 - 36 in Gallup
basically, a return to his usual numbers before the July dip

the chart illustrates the turnaround - having the crazies front and center is hurting the GOP
http://www.gallup.com/poll/113980/Gallup-Daily-Obama-Job-Approval.aspx

this, of course, will conflict with the 'revolution is brewing'/'teabagger grassroots uprising' narrative the cable folks are feeding us

3. The media knows this.
BUT that won't cause a sensation and is not newsworthy to them.

6. True. MSM thrives on conflict...
... or "perceived conflict" (where there's actual conflict or they can spin it that way). But where's the conflict in reporting an uptick in Obama's numbers? Their main thing has been reporting cracks in the Camelotian facade, 'cause that's dramatic! I suppose MSM could report that such an uptick represents a problem for the Republican opposition.... but that's apparently just not as much fun.

4. If it can't be spun into bad news for the Obama administration the media will not report it.

7. They'll only report on decreases.
They don't understand approval ratings fluctuate. Well that's a lie, they do understand. They just report when it slides a bit and ignore when it goes back up.

So Obama can be at 60% and maybe it'll dip to 53% - that's news worthy.

But if Obama's approval goes from 53 to 58% - it's ignored.

11. He had a strong week: NK releasing journalists, cash for clunkers extended, Sotomayor confirmed...
While everyone is focused on the nutbaggery and foolish antics of the GOP, Obama is continuing forward on the same measured course he has been on for months now. It may come as a surprise to some that he triumphs in the end, but he's only sticking to his normal methods.

13. The corporatemedia has jumped the shark
and they should worry more about getting eaten alive than trying to bring down Pres Obama.

14. If President Obama's numbers look similarly convincing as his first term
goes forward, the incentive for Huckabee to jump into the 2012 Republican nomination field is significantly reduced.

Despite being a far-Right and generally repulsive excuse for a public servant, Huckabee could give a weakened incumbent a run for his money. North Carolina and Indiana, IMO, would go to Huckabee were Obama in a weakened position.

But if Obama remains strong, Huckabee is shrewd enough to know that no one in his party, including himself, can unseat a popular sitting historic eloquent strategically-smart president like Barack Obama.

So then Huck bows out, leaving Romney to slobber over the then-easier path to the GOP nomination. I think in that case, Romney would make quick work of Palin and barring some unforeseen flub or mishap, would sail to the Pukes' nomination, whereafter Obama would crush him like a potato chip.

15. The media only tracks downward poll numbers.
Rising poll numbers are "sexy."

17. They're aware of it, but choose to ignore it.
Doesn't fit in with the bullshit they're trying to feed their viewers.
