GOP: Health Care is like Ketchup
From the Senate Republican Policy Committee

"Senator Kerry just went on about the outrageous profits of health insurers who dominate the market and offer little choice to consumers. That’s an interesting point considering that according to the website of Heinz ketchup, the company holds a 60 percent retail market share. Heinz products enjoy #1 or #2 market share in more than 50 countries. And according to Yahoo Finance, Heinz profits (8.6 percent) are more than double the health insurance industry (3.3 percent). Government run Ketchup, anyone?"

Yes, why didn't of that? Health care, education, and ketchup. Ketchup costs are bankrupting my family.

1. except you don't need ketchup, or you can make your own
You really can't do without health insurance, and you can't make your own health insurance.

2. WHAT!
So if I go to the grocery store and pick up a bottle of ketchup can the store refuse it to sell it to me because of a pre existing condition? If I lived in one of the 20+ States where Insurers have a monopoly and go into the store is my only choice Heinz? If I or someone in my family sick do I have to go to the store and buy Heinz Ketchup?

The level of stupidity is amazing.

3. And ketchup is a vegetable, see, so it's like health insurance in a bottle, so that makes
Senator Kerry a health insurer making outrageous profits. Wheeee! See how easy that was?

5. The Republicans had no problem with calling ketchup a vegetable
and were happy Heinz was a successful company when Senator Heinz was in the Senate - the fact is that neither Senator Heinz or Teresa have not run Heinz, just the Heinz Foundation which does philanthropy.

In addition, I think there is more customer satisfaction with ketchup, and Heinz ketchup in particular. The fact is that at my grocery store I think there are at least 5 ketchups - though I buy what my parents always bought - Heinz. That after trying the gourmet and health food ones.

Amazing the idiotic shots they take at Kerry, who outclasses all of them.

6. Yes, ketchup is so important to my meat that we need more competition for it.
Are they brain-dead? Wow. Equating the market for selling ketchup with the market for selling health care insurance. Lovely.
