internals on NYT-CBS poll
This is how the respondants said they voted in 2000. 'Nuff said.

Gore - 28
Bush - 36
Buchanan - 1
Nader - 1
Voted, won't say - 1
Didn't vote - 32

3. Exactly!
The Gallup poll is the same methodology; they are oversampling Republicans in all the polls. Since the Deserter in Thief is only up a dozen points in *these* polls, I suspect that these polls are being engendered to drive down voter turnout.

If most Americans would pay attention to all the parameters of their political process, instead of reading the FAUX News headlines, Bush would be down to his 30% hard right base, and we'd be arguing over how much of the Senate and House we'll take back. Nice distraction, huh?

ReTHUGs are good at advertising, and not good on product performance.

Ask your ReTHUG acquaintances;

would you rehire someone who took a $150 million dollar surplus (note: I'm paring down so the intended target of this kind of question won't be able to figure out what I'm driving at immediately - hey, it works!) a few years ago, made the company a pariah in its industry, ran up a $4 billion dollar debt load by cutting revenue?

Nobody answers yes. I then spring the trap and inform them that is what 'rehiring' (yes, I know, he was appointed by the SC) Bush would mean.

Man, I get some angry responses :D. Love 'em; I treat ReTHUGs as brutally as possible. Plus I'm big enough and mean looking enough for the rednecks to reconsider attacking me <vast, evil grin>. Plus, I'm a vet, and 99.9% of them aren't and they know I didn't push paper in MY service, unlike their hero, the Gropenfueher. I'm not a play commando :D.

Gettin' meaner by the day . . .

7. poll sample includes only 28% Gore 2000 voters
I suppose there is some arcane statistical justification for this distribution but I haven't figured it out yet.

guess WHAT, though

last night, I heard on radio news, several times, the NYTimes poll section that said that Bush is 22 points ahead of Kerry on international security issues, or something like that

AND that voters think KERRY is being too negative!

how do you like that?

you can be SURE that the media are only to happy to concentrate on this sort of BS, faux news. check and see if you hear stuff like this repeated by the RW baggers and MSM outlets

I got PHYSICALLY ILL when I heard that on the radio last night

as result, I'm going to see that movie with the biglipped gal and Jude Law...time to get away

PS the person I'm going with brought up the fact that she'd heard about the 13 point poll, and I told her about the sampling BS. She's a math/computer professional, so knows statistics, and was amazed by that garbage, but told me to STOP when I kept ranting about that, the soon to be reintated draft, etc. she can only take so much...pretty patient, though, considering

she tapes Maher for me

so, it's time for a break

9. stop dating those moderates, BCG!
When you get back from the movies, take a look at the demographics at the end of the .pdf.

Specifically, the poll is skewed toward those who make more $$ and skewed toward married people.

Only 10 percent of those polled make less than $15,000. At the other extreme, 23 percent make from $75,000 to $99,000.

So, dayum dayum. This would indicate to me that minorities are highly under-represented and that if you're a welfare recipient you're invisible!

Time for Dems to start registering voters at welfare offices and GOTV in poor white neighborhoods.
