What Is Rush Limbaugh's Net Worth? $1 Billion?
Rush Limbaugh's recent effort to buy the Rams makes me wonder just how rich the guy is? Just how much does one get paid as a premiere apologist for Corporate America. Oddly, despite Rush's very public effort to buy the Rams, the media is remarkably respectful of his privacy. In fact, once article I found simply observed that Rush likes to keep such information private. Who doesn't?

Is there some reluctance to disclosing just how much corporate America is funneling to Rush Limbaugh as a spokesperson for a corporate America. Between Rupert Murdoch and Rush Limbaugh, corporate is funneling advertising dollars to them in support of their agenda.

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_estimated_net_worth_of_Rush_Limbaugh&alreadyAsked=1&rtitle=What_is_the_estimated_net_worth_Rush_Limbaugh

No one knows for sure, as Rush Limbaugh is not tied to a public company, and thus does not have to publish figures. This said, however, press releases and insider sources have been able to change a guess to "educated guess". Known revenue includes:

$285 million salary and bonus for 2001 through 2008 ($35m bonus, salary of approximately $31.25m/year)
$400 million salary and bonus from 2009 through 2016 ($100m plus bonus - the exact figure was not disclosed, except for "nine digit bonus" - and $38m/year salary)
So through his salary itself, he has earned $285 million for current work, $400 million for future. And that only covers back to 2001. Rush has been on the air since 1988. While he certainly earned less in his early days, it can be assumed his salary was significant. Additionally, it is rumored that he receives a share of advertising revenue, which would be quite large, considering his 20 million listeners each week.

Thus, in conclusion, Rush Limbaugh is close to, or just over the billionaire net worth mark. With at least $685 million, and advertising revenue joined with previous contracts which must be in the hundreds-of-millions range, Rush can be assumed an essential billionaire.

1. Depends also on how much he's pissed away on drugs and trips to rape boys in Dominican Republic
and other places.

Plus - the math guy and economics guy in me can't let your analysis go without criticism - earnings do not equal net worth. He will have paid taxes, spent money on food, homes, travel, clothing, house cleaners, Christmas gifts, trinkets, books, lawn care, property taxes, charitable giving (yes, I'm sure that even he gives money away), and the stuff that all of us have to spend money on and do spend money on.

I'm sure he's invested a good amount, though at this point, his investments might very well be worth less than he put in them.

So the question is not how much has he earned, but how much has he kept, and how much is it all now worth.

4. He is a piss-poor excuse of a man and a meager soul...
a drug addicted and compassion impoverished miser with no true friends and a cheap skate in all the things that truly matter.
A lot of Americans don't have much money now but they are richer by far.

17. Exactly. When he was living in New York, he would have been paying over 50% in taxes.
Either way, the guy as more money that I will ever have in 100 lifetimes...for doing nothing worthwhile.

14. Money. We Always Here About Oprah's Wealth? What About Limbaugh?
Heck, Oprah is not buying any football franchises. You have to ask just how much money is corporate America throwing at Limbaugh? At least lobbyists are subject to some disclosure requirements. Limbaugh is a big giant bill board for corporate capitalism, yet it is an absolute secret regarding exactly how rich he is?

9. I can't stand Limbaugh
Edited on Sun Oct-18-09 02:10 AM by LatteLibertine
and the fact remains he's good at what he does. He's a greedy fellow with no conscience that has made a killing telling some folks precisely what they wish to hear as his on air "personality".

His recent troubles are amusing because right before them he was claiming to be untouchable. Well, Rush, freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences of said speech.

12. Don't Forget His "Expenses"
Two alimonies that I know of...the last one cost him a pretty penny (and probably still is), his real estate that has probably taken a tumble. My bets are he also got into those high risk funds and took a good bath on those. Not to say the guy doesn't have money, but I highly doubt it'd be over $1 billion. As they say, it's not what you make, but what you keep. Rushbo's been known to live high off the hog...literally.

13. Limbaugh demonstrates that the old adage still rings true.
He fully well knows that there is a sucker born every minute. It is nothing more than a class B act that demonstrates the stupidity of a significant portion of our citizens as he preys on their prejudices. Just another snake oil salesman whose act becomes increasingly more bizarre to impress the rubes.

18. His alleged common touch is precisely what makes him so valuable to corporate America.
They're not about to let his net worth become known among his followers, none of whom would be welcome at his mansion.
