I don't like the message this is sending. Women in the political arena should not be shielded from scrutiny or criticism as if they are hothouse flowers.

But on the other hand, I DO think that criticism of women politicians should be *constructive* and directed at their policies and politics, not their gender.

Example: When Olympia Snowe became a "Greek b****" on Free Republic. If you disagree with her political decisions, fine. Her ethnic heritage and/or gender have nothing to do with it.
