CNN-RNC to use"and Congressional colleagues" to get around spending limits
Just reported on Paula Zahn. They will put that phrase into W ads for President so the money can come out of the RNC and not W's $74 Million fixed amount.

She then interviewed Chris Shays who said that McCain-Feingold was undercut by regulations and rulings by the FEC.

He pointed out that ActUp MoveOn and the MEdia fund spent $16 Million while the Swifties only spent $5Million and got much more coverage. Zahn said well the Republican got lucky with the media coverage.

Aside from that the Repubs are actually going to flat out break the law right in front of everyone's face but then they probably knew that when W SIGNED IT INTO LAW.

1. I'd like to know where they got the $5million figure
I've heard they have spent, and plan to spend much more than that. Looking for a link.

2. But see it all depends upon on how you interpret the law...
Republican Creativity (combined with the fact you basically have all 3 branches of government under control)

Just like how you measure poverty.

Just like how you measure people with healthcare.

Just like how you measure job creation.

I was watching the Senate today on CSPAN-2 and the Democrats were pointing out how the Department of Labor wanted to skew the manufacturing job numbers. How you many ask...easy, the labor department wanted to reclassify making burgers from the service industry to manufacturing ! I kid you not.

4. Yup. Forget the $16 job at the auto plant, $5.15 at McD's is the future !
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/02/20/politics/main601336.shtml

(CBS) Manufacturing jobs making things like airplane engines, cars and farm equipment are disappearing from the American economy.

Or are they? According to a White House report, new manufacturing jobs might be as close as your nearest drive-thru.

"The definition of a manufactured product," the box reads, "is not straightforward."

"When a fast-food restaurant sells a hamburger, for example, is it providing a 'service' or is it combining inputs to 'manufacture' a product?" it asks.

5. Its a smart idea that we should have thought of
and that we should use now.

We cannot let them gain a substantial advertising advantage over us in the final stretch.
