I Just Thought of How Kerry Can Communicate
the economic numbers, especially the weak recovery in jobs (GDP vs employment) and the size of the deficit. If voters absorb this message, Bush is toast. He can't explain them away.

It's frustrating to debate because many people don't "get" numbers unless they see them, and the Bush team just talks in generalities.

Voters need charts. The problem is that Kerry will look like a wonk if he brings charts into the debates.

My solution? Let Edwards bring them to his debate with Cheney. The media can make fun of Edwards all they want -- it won't swing the election. But the message will get out. And Cheney is the perfect foil -- he's on record as saying "deficits don't matter."

1. I read that quote you're talkin' about
with cheney and deficits. cheney said "reagun proved deficits don't matter."..but that's not true is it?

2. charts and other "props" are not allowed in the debates
but what Edwards can do and is very good at is simplfying it in a way that most people who can't understand the official numbers and language used would be able to understand.

3. Hadn't Realized it Was Against the Rules
but hearing is not the same as seeing.

The next option would be to put the charts in a TV ad. Seriously. It will turn some heads.

4. He could have them printed on a t-shirt and in the middle of the debate
rip open his shirt and reveal the T-shirt of Truth underneath!
