I'm trying to figure out Tom Coburn (senate candidate in Oklahoma)

I've known this guy for 35 years...quite well. I was chief pilot for his dad's company from when he was just starting college and years afterward...carried him all over the country. He didn't start out being a goofy wingnut...his younger brother has remained fairly sane (republican but not fanatic), his older brother Dave is a drunken lout like their father (O.W. - Orin William) was...who actually jumped on top of me and pounded very ineffectually, at a convention in Atlanta when I said I supported McGovern...that's another story. But Tom didn't become a far, FAR "right" wingnut until he apparently overcame cancer back in the early 90s. I guess that's when he found Jesus. Anyway, I kinda stay 'in touch' with him and I remind him of the many times he put himself and his family in my 'hands', as it were...and how can he be such a dickhead. (The old man gave Anal...er, Oral Roberts 10 million bucks before he croaked which sure looks to me like he thought it might atone for all his lecherous behavior for decades)

Shit, I prolly should write a book about all this stuff. :eyes:

1. I was listening to him on "Unfiltered" on AAR

and he sounded quite insane sorry to say. He was calling on the death penalty for anyone who takes another life including doctors who legally perform abortions. Those that "find" God just scare the hell out of me.

And frankly, when he was running against Shit For Brains Humphreys, he was saying a few things I liked.

Then he won and knew he had to show is fundie self for all the fundie Repugs here in Oklahoma in the GE. In other words, he had to show his true self to rally his base.

Carson is far from perfect. He makes me uncomfortable on multiple levels, but I'm relieved he's going to win. I don't want someone who makes Jim Inoffe look like Ted Kennedy representing my state.
