Alabama Health Care Reform
With health care reform crumbling nationally, it looks like meaningful health care reform may happen first at the state level. Here is a link to information that I've collected about health care reform in Alabama. Hope this interests you and you will all other information. It helps every state to know what is happening in each
state.

Did you know that the Alabama Labor Council endorsed HR 676 - Improved Medicare For All ?

1. I don't think there's a chance in hell of Alabama getting healthcare reform any time soon
Hell, we can't even get the sales tax removed from groceries. Despite the fact that our legislature is controlled by politicians that call themselves Democrats, they are the most regressive, reactionary space monkeys in the known universe. They are truly pathetic.

I was talking with a friend about the legalization of MJ a few weeks ago. We both agreed that it was probably inevitable. That it would happen in California this year. And in Alabama in 2510.

Thanks for stopping in though. :)

2. States may have to up their act.
We are having a hard time in Colorado, but at least we don't tax groceries, although there is talk of bringing the tax back for junk food - I'm not sure what I think of that, although it is a regressive tax.

Most health care reform people would prefer to have the reform done at the Federal level, but it doesn't look good. Even the national health care reform groups are indicating maybe it will be up to the states. Canada, didn't start nationally, initially one province started and then it caught on.

For information about health care reform in various states, see:

Wish us luck!
