Alabama senator's bill to ban Islamic law in Alabama courts

Alabama state Sen. Gerald Allen, R-Cottondale, has sponsored a bill for the new legislative session that would ban the use of Islamic law, known as Shariah, in the Alabama court system.

Allen told reporters he can't cite any examples of Muslims trying to have Islamic law recognized in Alabama courts, but he says the bill is designed to protect Alabamians in the future from erosion of the Constitution, according to The Associated Press.

Remember he's the same guy that wants to bury all books about gay people, or by gay authors... including the ancient masters, in a "big hole."

But at least he wants to protect us all against this sudden outbreak of shariah law in Alabama.

What a maroon.

He's a representative in the state assembly. He always votes against funding public education. And, coincidentally, he runs a company that enlists students to sell candy bars in order to fund basic school functions.

Even Sean Hannity seemed to think he was nuts. Bonus points to anyone that can find that clip on YouTube for me.

3. The thing about getting older is

the feeling that you've heard it all before. When I was a child, this same kind of fear and hatred was directed against Catholics and the Pope. However, I don't think any legislator thought to try to make Pope law illegal.

4. Isn't arbitration of civil suits legal in AL and most states? If so how can a law selectively ban

arbitration under this or that code without being ruled discriminatory?
