New director of state Democratic Party spoke to us Sat. night.

Judge Mark Kennedy.
Former state supreme court justice.
He was the featured speaker at our annual South Baldwin County Democrats Jefferson-Jackson banquet.

I was very impressed.
Well spoken, witty, and very intelligent.
Not your standard 'good-ol'-boy' pol.

I've become pretty jaded about politics in the last year or so, but
Judge Kennedy's talk even got ME inspired.
Well...a little bit, anyway.
Time will tell.

It was especially touching that he left his family during a very emotional time for them to come and be with us.
Their eldest son (Captain, 82nd Airborne) had just left that afternoon for a tour in Afghanistan. It is his second tour.
