I'm surprised there hasn't been more discussion about the contractor changes on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System. A few hundred experienced Alaskan union employees are going to lose their jobs. A lot of their non-union replacements are going to be from outside. Not only will Alaska's be hurt, those employees are the meat of the Pipeline spill response capability, which will be diminished by less experienced employees.

but I think you might have some things to talk about with Arctic Dave who works up on the Slope. He doesn't come into the state forum much, but watch for him out in General Discussion. I'd be interested to hear more about this.
