its being supported by Common Cause and the California Council of Churches

we need redistricting in California in a big way, but fair redistricting

1. This is how we know it's bad-
"Governor Schwarzenegger Donates $50,000 To Kick Off Signature Drive For California Voters First Act."

Thanks for posting this, I'm going to look into it.

2. I saw that too but we still need redistricting
the whole system we have now is just an incumbent/party protection plan

3. I honestly don't know enough about the issue to have a fair opinion-
But my curiosity is up, and I'm going to look into it. I do know it would be great to beat Lungren in 3 and whoever they run for Dolittles seat in 4.

I did some volunteer work for Charlie Brown, and right now I'm meeting with Bill Durston on Sunday to do an interview. Now, it looks like I may have some new questions to ask.

4. Thanks for the post. Haven't heard of this, and yeah, we need redisctricting,
fair redistricting. The current situation is a mess. I'd like to look into this.

I'm guessing they're looking to get this on the national election ballot in November?

5. We've got that (R) Rep. from Bakersfield here on the Central Coast,
who spends his fly time back and forth to DC trying to become the next Karl Rove of Republican politics. And literally says as much (without mentioning Rove as his role model...)

15. Common Cause has supported a few ill-advised initiatives in CA.
I once was a supporter of Common Cause, not so much the last few years.

There will be redistricting in 2 years anyway - census in 2010 - districts redrawn. All the districts in Orange County were conceded to the publicans in 2000 redraw - Thanx a bunch there Democratic Majority. That has to change in 2010.

16. Thank you, exactly right, it's all about safe districts for the wannabe big-shots.
And not having to sell it to the membership.

17. I hate initiatives!!!!
They are all about who has the most money to pay signature gatherers and to buy advertising.
