I have a question regarding Disability Parking placards
I have a permanent disability parking placard, issued by the state of Minnesota (the placard expires in Dec 2009 - which means, if I still lived in MN, I would get one reissued at that time).

I now live in California. Can I bring the MN placard in to the DMV and get a CA one issued to me, or do I have to go do the whole certification by the doctor thing and fill out the application?

1. Here's a good place to start, Kitchy.
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/brochures/fast_facts/ffvr07.htm

--there's a link for an application for the placard.

You will need to have your doctor sign it.

I couldn't find any info on placards from other states,
so you might want to call the DMV and ask if there's
another way to get one.

I hope this helps.

:D :pals:

2. call & ask. The only time I had to pay
for a placard was when on was stolen. Had to pay to get a duplicate.

3. I would assume you have to do a new application,
but if you submit evidence of the current one along with the required forms from your doctor, it'll probably go faster because they'll know somebody verified already that you have a legit disability.

My mom has had one since I was a kid- I don't recall her ever mentioning it being a particularly big deal to get approved.

4. When I moved from AZ to OR they had me get a Drs. signed form.
