Is Senator Feinstein running for re-election in 2006?
If she isn't, what Democrat would you
suggest run instead?
And even if she is, what Democrat would
you run against her?

What Republicans are thinking about running
against her or have stated they are running
in that race?

1. No because I believe she is up for re-election in 2008
Sen. Boxer is running for re-election in 2006. Or am I wrong?

9. I used to like Sanchez, but unfortunately she is about as progressive
as Jane Harmon. Her behavior in the recall , I hold against her

11. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.
I should look up her record.

12. My main objection to Sanchez was her breaking ranks
in the ill fated attempt to put Bustamante in Davis's chair. although they claimed No on recall, yes on Bustamante. He was a lousy candidate and it was a bad idea.

14. True, Davis' recall was not one of those shining moments.
He was an almost classic case of the sort of suit-droid that gets
put up to lose for us at the national level: McGovern, Dukakis,
Mondale, Gore, Kerry, all of whom were good enough men in themselves,
or at least not shameless assholes, and all of which had about as
much charisma as a toadstool and a complete unwillingness to address
any issues that really matter to the great unwashed masses.

I remember reading one other story where Ms Sanchez appeared to me in
a bad light, but I am far from abandoning support for her. I was just
saying a review of her voting record is in order. I'm not in her
district anyway, so she could care a fig what I think unless she does
try for DiFi's seat.

6. Jane Harman would be a strong candidate...
I personally think she's too military oriented
but she'd go over well with defense industry
in CA.

Ideally I'd love to see Barbara Lee, but no progressive
African American from Oakland will get the Senator's
seat, even in CA.

Waxman would be an interesting choice...I wonder
how well known he is in N. CA?

8. Agree, but she may be the only person that can beat....
Arnold Schwarzenegger. Strong rumor is that Arnie is considering running for her seat. It would be a foregone conclusion that he would run for Senate if Feinstein retires.
