As we all know, Idaho is a very red state, and there's not much action going on with the Democratic side of the primaries, and some of the Republican races could be really contested, so a few votes there could really make the difference.
I think its important that xenophobic, secessionist, Christian-supremacist fools like governor-wannabe Rex Rammell get voted against by large margins, to ensure that we have someone who is more tolerant of all faiths and walks of life in government. While I don't support Governor Otter, I do think highly of challenger Sharon Ullman. She's conservative on spending, but out of all the Republican challengers running for the office, she definitely seems like the lesser of the evils. While I wouldn't vote for her in the general election over a Democratic candidate, it would be nice to know that some extremist isn't the fallback option should the Republicans prevail in November.
Voting in this country, under the current system, is all about voting for the lesser of the evils, not who you'd necessarily ideally like to see in office. So it might be worthwhile to see that the least evil Republicans make it to the general election, so that even though we will vote against them there, at least we aren't totally screwed if the Democratic candidate doesn't win.
