Question Re Duckworth & the VFW -- I Wonder If This Is True --
when the VFW endorsed roskam instead of duckworth that really pissed me off.

now i find this article which says that both candidates asked the VFW for endorsement. they were both told they had to fill out a questionnaire. roskam's office did.

but, according to marine corps times, duckworth's office never got back to the VFW.

"Roskam also completed a 22-item questionnaire required for anyone seeking the PAC’s endorsement. The Duckworth campaign never answered the questionnaire, Capirchio said. Her campaign called once asking about a possible endorsement, was told about the questionnaire and was not heard from again, he said."

anyone know if this is true? and if it is--then why didn't they at least fill out the fucking questionnaire?

1. she made a statement at the time
that they never contacted her. they also endorsed allen over webb. i mean, come on. do they endorse everyone who fills in their questionnaires with the right lies, or do they read the paper?

2. i get your point, but then again i'm not going to hire someone unless
they apply for the job.

if their rule to initiate an endorsement was to fill out a questionnaire then whoever checked this out and was running her campaign should have made sure that happened.

you don't just blow it off and assume the majority red district will endorse you no matter what.

i wanted to say that even the troops don't throw their support behind other troops, or that they don't trust one of their own. but i can't. (even if they really are more busy supporting their party than each other i can't say it because it was nipped in the bud when that questionnaire wasn't filled out.)

was this questionnaire application always in place? was it the "rule" when one of her staff called to ask about it? i don't know but if either of those were the case they should have made a big deal about it.

now, as it is, she lost.
and i think that endorsement would have been important. (and even more important to make sure her opponent wasn't endorsed by the freakin vfw)
