please like barbara moore for cook co water
reclamation district. she is the wife of my alderman joe moore, a bastion of progressive democratic values in the party, and in work with other city governments across the country. he has had his wife barbara by his side since before their marriage several years ago. she is a political animal, and a down to earth progressive.
the water rec district has a long history as a supporter of affirmative action, as well as women on their board of commissioner. (writer johnathon alter's mother was a commissioner, and a great feminist.) 30 years ago, when i was a carpenter, i helped to form an organization called chicago women in trades. the wrd worked with us, and helped many women get skilled jobs on water treatment projects. many women worked on the deep tunnel project.

help continue this progressive story. like barb.

1. I met her last year at Governor's Day in Springfield.
I hope to see them there again, week after next.

He was a speaker at an event in Madison, too. I did not get there in time to hear him.

4. I am not a fan of Joe Moore. Spending time on the issue of foie gras instead of
fighting crime, creating jobs, keeping the streets safe and clean. He is known to be a crook and is a real joke.
The Water Reclamation District definitely needs some help though.
Dumping waste water in Lake Michigan is something that should never ever happen. If Barbara would make sure that this would stop, she would get my vote. Is she endorsed by the Sierra Club?

5. if you think that joe moore = foia gras, then
you don't know jack about the man. i'll just leave that there, as mods are not supposed to thrash members.

since barb hasn't even got her petitions out yet, she isn't endorsed by anybody. i have no doubt she would be. not only is she very knowledgable, she is already working on green solutions to water (and lots of other environmental) issues. waste water is not "dumped" into the lake, except in extreme situations. it is a rare, rare event.
she is already working on projects to divert storm water. she inspired me to disconnect my gutters, and i have a very cool storm water system now. she is working on a goal of 100 rain gardens and 100 rain barrels in the 49th. i have both, plus rain chains.
