Occupy Rockford Protest Takes to the Streets
ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Today at noon, the group Occupy Rockford gathered at Beattie Park and traveled to several downtown banks in protest.

Rallies have been taking place across the country in cities like New York, Boston, and Chicago to end corporate greed. Today, Rockford joined the many cities in efforts to let the ninety-nine percent be heard.

Around sixty people were at the protest today. Marchers were encouraged to make a protest sign, and those without a sign to carry the American flag. During the march, leaders were reading the constitution and noting points where the government has failed. Occupy Rockford told its supporters it was a non-violent protest, and were told not to engage in violence even if provoked ...
