"Occupy Wall Street" comes to Rockford

ROCKFORD (WREX) -

Rockford protesters say the government is broken and lawmakers have lost touch with their constituents.

"The margin is slipping further and further," said Todd Paluzzi, a former RPS 205 employee. "There's no middle class no more, the rich keep getting richer and here we are, poor."

Leon Christie is a former construction worker who says his hard job put him in a wheelchair. Now, the services he relies on are being cut while corporations get bailed out—and he's fed up.

"Medicaid gets cut, I have to pay more for prescriptions and buy less for groceries," said Christie. "Wouldn't you be fed up?" ...
