Peoria Journal Star: Peoria's own red carpet event

"PEORIA - The audience inside theater one of Willow Knolls 14 on Sunday didn't mind the murmur from other patrons, because the feature presentation invited guessing about the show's outcome.

Besides, the person in the back row couldn't spoil the evening, because his guess was as good as any other.

For the first time, the theater broadcast an event that is typically watched at home on television: the Oscars.

Theater management used a projector to broadcast a DirecTV satellite signal of the 77th Annual Academy Awards. It has previously used the technology to broadcast hockey games and other events, but this was the first time it let the stars of the silver screen shine on their traditional stage."

That's pretty cool. Does anyone know if any Chicago movie theaters do that? I think the Music Box could make a killing. They probably don't have the technology to do it though?

How did everyone's Oscar guesses/parties go?
