al franken in skokie for schakowsky fundraiser

I know this is a late notice, but I am thrilled to be able to announce
to everyone an opportunity to attend a big event happening in Skokie.
If you like listening to Air America, or even if you just appreciate
someone who can find humor in these trying politically trying times,
you won'l want to miss attending tomorrow's event.

Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky was able to get political comedian Al
Franken to come to town for a fundraising dinner, which should tell
you just a little bit more about Jan. Franken, who is in high demand
these days due to his successful radio show and best-selling books,
doesn't say "yes" to a lot of these types of events. However, knowing
Jan's record in Congress and her committment to the social values that
we all long for once again, Al Franken said, he is coming for a night
of fun, conversation and dinner, to meet with Jan and her Progressive
constituents!


 
Al Franken is going to be the speaker and special guest of
Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky's dinner this Friday,
October 21st at Maggiano's in Old Orchard at 7:30 p.m.

Al Franken, a master of many mediums, is doing for radio what he and
his not-ready-for-prime-time cohorts did for television when they
created Saturday Night Live three decades ago: make it funny. A winner
of five Emmy and two Grammy awards, Franken is also the author of four
New York Times best-sellers, including his latest, Lies, and the Lying
Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right. The Al
Franken Show picks up where Lies left off, tracking the Bush
administration and their cronies in the right-wing media, and then
using their lies and distortions to heap scorn and ridicule upon them.
"That's what I do," says Franken. "That's what I do."

The normal cost of this event is $250 per person. However, if you are
