Significant machine probs in Clark Co. Ballots counted by hand

Computers in Clark County were having trouble reading results brought in from voting machines. Results were being read to a woman who was manually typing them in.

"The official results are going to take hours and hours," said Keith Groth, Clark County clerk. "The system is rejecting the packs and the information therein, which is the vote totals.This is the worst scenario that you can experience."

2. Indy Star reporting probs in Marion Co. school board race

Results from the Washington and Decatur township school board races will not be available until tomorrow because ballots have to be hand-counted.

Today’s announcement by Doris Anne Sadler, the Marion County clerk, was not unexpected. The hand-count was ordered more than a week ago after a test of voting machines revealed a programming problem.
