I believe Auburn did Iowa State a huge favor
Chizik may win down there. I don't think he was ever going to win in Ames. let's face it, it will take a 100% commitment to win in Ames. I always had the impression Chizik would jump at the first pretty face that smiled his way. Son of a gun he did.
I hope the athletic director can be a bit better at picking this time. I'd like to see someone give Turner Gill a chance.
Any speculation out there 'Clone fans?

1. No more rock stars
We just need a solid coach ie Steve Loney. Jamie Pollard got taken I hope it does not happen again.

2. Is there anyone presently at ISU who could do the job?
I'm wondering if there's anyone working now in the ISU program who would make a good head coach and could take both themselves and the team to the next level?

3. Don't know
I am not as close as I used to be to inside information. There will be transfers of that there is no doubt. I don't know if keeping an assistant would stem that tide or not? Knowing Pollard I doubt that will figure into the decision and it shouldn't. One thing I do know, the guys we recruited and signed under GC are bigger and stronger than we got under McCarney ( I really like Dan too) The cupboard is not bare if we can keep some of the guys that played last year around we should be ok regardless of who is named.

FROM what I saw, ISU was competitive. Some real talent there, esp. on offense

5. And now, FROM Auburn:
Paul Rhoads, who grew up in Ankeny, was an ISU defensive coach with Dan McCarney, is the new head coach. I think it is a good pick by Jamie Pollard.

IMO, one of the best things he's done since coming to ISU.
