Mile of Bush Protesters in Des Moines
<http://www.theiowachannel.com/politics/3695590/detail.html>

It was quite a sight for a midweek afternoon. Great turnout to show Bush and McCain what we think of their kind.

1. I think it is so wonderful. Thank you Des Moines.
Before his arrival, however, critics are weighing in on his views on farm issues. America Coming Together, a voter mobilization group opposed to Bush, is protesting his visit with members dressed up as ears of corn. They're also protesting Arizona Sen. John McCain, who's traveling with Bush, for his record opposing ethanol subsidies.

Video: Hundreds Turn Out To Greet Bush

Bush arrived in Des Moines around noon, and was greeted by Democrats who picketed a mile-long stretch near the city's airport. They were protesting his position on health care.

2. Thank you Iowans!
I do believe he has worn out his welcome.

-----
from the article:
Bush will be back in Iowa on Friday, making it the fifth-most visited state since he took office. Only his home state of Texas along with Florida, Pennsylvania, Missouri and Ohio rank ahead. However, by the end of the week, Bush will have logged more time courting Iowa's seven electoral votes than those of any other battleground state when ratios of trips to electoral votes are compared.

Been working on adding Iowa media outlets for the Campaign Underground media blaster and came over to the Iowa forums to share a link to the River Cities' Reader, in case you weren't aware of it. When I opened their webpage, I just about fell out of my chair. A link to a PNAC primer on the front page of a paper published in Iowa?!

and then the first thing I see when I open the Iowa forums is this thread. WOW!

This is not the conservative small town Iowa I grew up in way back when, that's for sure.

Way to go, Iowa!

3. Yeah it is a bit of a surprise
I know the woman who publishes the River Cities Reader and at one time, she was a Republican. I think the current bunch of neocons have turned her off the repubs, but that paper, which is a weekly, is a bit of a Libertarian leaning publication. Now when I say I know her, that doesn't neccessarily mean that I like her. In truth, I haven't seen her for a while. But she is fighting city hall and so at least she's trying to do something. One more thing, whwere did you grow up at? We were always liberal, although the town may not have been. The town of LeClaire that is.

4. Yes. I'm proud of our state
and those who went to the protest. Just amazes me how some repugs will still stand behind a weak, unelected fraud.
