Single payer rally May 30th in Augusta
May 30th -- 12 to 2 PM -- State House, Augusta

Rally for National Health Care for Everyone - for Life -- Improved Medicare for All - HR 676

This is part of a nationwide effort to demonstrate support for single payer health care. We may have very few opportunities to influence the direction that this debate is taking in Washington. Baucus says he will produce a bill by the end of June and Pelosi says she will have one by the end of July. Do you want the end result to be more of the same from the health care industry or legislation that results in a true publicly financed system? WE NEED A LARGE TURNOUT TO TELL THEM WHAT WE THE PUBLIC EXPECT FROM OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS!

1. article about it in Village Soup
Endorsing the rally are the Maine State Nurses Association, Maine AFL-CIO, Veterans for Peace, Maine Green Independent Party, Healthcare-NOW, Physicians for a National Health Program, Progressive Democrats of America, Peace & Justice Groups of Maine, and the National Single Payer Alliance. Rallies and demonstrations for single payer health care will take place throughout the nation on or about May 30.

Speakers in Augusta on May 30 will include elected officials, labor union representatives, health care providers, and people who suffered physically and/or financially under the present system. The rally will offer entertainment, health screening, fun and games for children, and food and refreshments.
