Massachusetts Repukes Says Everything Going Great
MA GOP Says Everything Going Great

The latest GOP political update written by Executive Director Rob Willington and distributed to the faithful by Chairman Peter Torkildsen (no trendy "Chairpeople" or, "Chairs," around here!):

Political Climate: There is no doubt that the Ogonowski congressional campaign has improved spirits among the GOP faithful and identified new activists for future campaigns and GOP committees to utilize. Jim continues to meet with people and he is spending a considerable amount of time on the road. He is well received and his populist image has been a fresh change on the political scene. We will see what his future holds for him.

Local Elections: The MassGOP worked closely with over a dozen municipal candidates and introduced voter vault to their campaigns. Municipal candidates have rarely seen this level of sophistication and many of them were pleasantly surprised with the support they received. However, some of them wish not to be publicly recognized by the MassGOP since their elections were not partisan races and this is understandable. We won several key races last week and our farm team continues to grow. We worked closely with the Young Republicans who spent a lot of time on the campaign trail door knocking and phone banking for these candidates.

2008 Elections: Our candidate recruitment is average right now. We have had several candidates approach us but we need more people reaching out and asking prospects if they are interested in running for office. Recruitment is something we need to press upon the committees and utilize their local connections to find qualified candidates to carry the GOP banner.
