1. Should be a good race
Jon Bonifaz is also running. Sounds like two good candidates. Should be a chance to air out the issues.

4. Bonifaz will be at the M-W holiday party this Sunday
Kerry is a possible.

Check out details in the current "dispatch".

To see them both for sure, check the calendar in the state party calendar for December 19 & January 9.

2. Bill Galvin
Does anyone know if the current Secretary of State, Bill Galvin is running for Governor, Lt. Governor, Secretary of State or getting out of politics entirely.

He did some great work on the investing scandals when the Bush SEC did not step in and do their job.

It would be a shame if he ended up out of politics after shaming the SEC into doing its job. He was ahead of even New York AG Spitzer on this.

3. John Kerry's brother is running for Massachussettes Sec of State?????

Say what? When did he announce? The subject line here is misleading.

1. This is the same stuff that has been there for weeks. From the headline I was expecting to see an annoucement. This is an exploratory committee, that is all. Kerry will not announce unless Galvin decides not to run.

2. If Cam were not John's brother, would he still be running? In other words, what are his qualifications? Or is his strategy to run on family name recognition.

See the Bonifaz announcement at http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=2285893&mesg_id=2285893 Bonifaz is the real deal.

5. I don't believe he has announced yet
But he is raising money. Either he has a whopper of a credit card bill or he's working on something.

Either way, we could use some races with more than one candidate. This is a good thing. If the issue becomes election fraud, then so much the better. Maybe the lazy local media will finally report on the issue if both potentials bring it up repeatedly.

I hope they both run. I hope they both run even if Bill Galvin re-runs for the seat. It is good for democracy and good for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts where too few races are contested.
