So, who got elected as Delegates to the DemCon?
Northern Middlesex: My husband and I are both going as Delegates? Yeah!

Anyone else?

1. unofficial tally
Edited on Sat Feb-04-06 02:13 PM by Chuletas
I think there are 19 delegates, 14 for Patrick, 2 uncommitted and the other three for O'Reilly at our caucus.

2. Plymouth & Hingham - unofficial results
Both towns were sweeps for Deval Patrick for a total of @36 delegates. I am Patrick delegate. We had almost 200 people at the Plymouth caucus because Sen. Therese Murray and Rep. Tom O'Brien were supporting Reilly. Patrick's slate won 2 to 1.

What hotels are people booking in Worcester?

3. Ashland cast its 8 electoral votes as follows:
The sleepy town of Ashland, home of the electric clock, casts 7 votes for Deval Patrick, 0 votes for Tom Reilly and 1 vote for "leaning Deval but not there yet" ...

Several speakers also voiced their support for Mike Festa for DA (with a secondary preference for Barrios) ...

Only one delegate mentioned the Lt. Governor's race ... he's supporting Deb Goldberg ...

mrs. wt2 and I both ran in hotly contested races ... we both won ... of course her margin was bigger than mine and i had to listen to it all the way home in the car ... sheesh ...

so, for the record, i am officially endorsing Deval Patrick ... i think Reilly's a good guy; i don't he's provided adequate substance to win and i think he'll be seen by the State's huge "Unenrolled" community as too much of a party insider ... also, Deval has enumerated some very specific views and programs (see his website); Reilly has not ...

this is going to be a very, very tough campaign for Governor ... i believe Patrick will give us the fresh look, less partisan approach we'll need to win ...

congratulations to all others who became delegates today !!

7. Congratulations!
Our caucus is tomorrow. I'm a delegate on the Deval Patrick slate. I can't believe how behind the ball Reilly has been. At this rate Reilly is not going to get 15%.

8. today "appears" to have been a stunning upset
i think we still need to see more definitive results but i think today may have truly been a political shocker ... time will tell ...

there is just no way i could have predicted this ...

as for Reilly not getting 15%, forget it ... he's got backing from tons of state reps and senators ... he'll get his 15% easily ... at least that's what i think ...

where and at what time is your Caucus ... i might want to sit-in as a non-voting visitor ... i think that's allowed ... i spent a bunch of time speaking to Jerry Desilets today about my views on the Governors race ... he's the regional co-ordinator for Deval ...

good luck tomorrow!! i wish i could come by and vote for you ... if you haven't already done so, check out Deval's website ... if you're going to speak about why you're supporting Deval (we all made little 2 minute speeches), you can get some great details by clicking on any of Deval's issue positions and then scrolling down to the bullet list in the section called: "Closing the Gap" ... this section appears for each issue he addressed and gives you a quick snapshot of his "vision" ...

of course, running as part of a slate should make things a little easier ... we were "somewhat dissuaded" from running a slate ...

again, good luck ... check back tomorrow to let us know how you, and your slate, made out ...

12. 26 for Deval, and only 8 for Reilly!!
All 3 alternates are Deval supporters as well. It was a unity slate, and many of the Reilly supporters were active FDTC members, so it made sense to do this. At least we bargained from a position of strength. We had no speeches but a lot of the candidates showed up, including Deval who gave a 2 minute speech. My son saw him and agreed that he had presence. Did you come? I didn't see you (or your reply until now).

They tried to disuade us from creating a slate as well, but we didn't listen.

I like the spin Reilly's camp is putting on this - that his dismal showing is a sign of how independent and unbeholden to the leftists and to special interest groups he is!

All of us DUers should have our own get-together at the convention in June.

4. A total Deval sweep in Hingham as mentioned by Janalfi
10 delegates plus 2 alternates all Deval heading to Worcester

2 Union people showed up and ran as uncommitted - that did not fly today

And one poli sci student also uncommitted -

We think these 3 will try to apply as add on delegates

9. North of Lowell went for Deval Patrick
Edited on Sat Feb-04-06 11:01 PM by TayTay
Tyngsborough: 4 for Deval Patrick, 1 Alternate for Reilly and 1 uncommitted (With one alternate slot unfilled and the town committee voted to allow the Chair to fill it.)

Pepperell: 4 for Deval Patrick, 2 Alternates for Deval Patrick and the Chair for Reilly.

Pretty good for a 'red' part of Massachusetts.

Geez, we definitely have enough folks in here for a Worcester DU Meetup. I don't know about hotels yet, it's still too new. Will check back in as I get the info and the stuff mailed in.

Worcester -- it should be a fun con.

11. Reilly lives in my town, and I was told he didn't even win there.
Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to the caucus yesterday but I talked to someone today who said Patrick got more delegates than Reilly did. If he can't even win where he lives.....

14. I'll be there!
I am a Patrick delegate....Looks to me like Patrick my just pull this endorsement out! Remember at the beginning when there was, according to much of the media, no way he could even get close, 'cause he could never raise enough money?
