It was a small, pretty formal event, mostly state and local officials, business folks and such. There didn't seem to be many "regular" folks there at all. I talked to a handful of people like me, who went not only to hear Biden speak, but to be there to keep track of the Hoolies, should any be there. Everyone, per Secret Service request, had to be seated during the speeches, and they brought out additional chairs to accommodate the obviously larger than anticipated crowd.
During check-in, they had a list. I wasn't on it, but the volunteer looked at my Bidenite cap and driver's license, asked how I heard about the event, smiled, and checked me in. There were no Hoolies outside or inside the event.
I took some pictures, but I was too far back, to get any really decent pictures of Biden, Levin, Bing, Peters, Granholm, etc. Had I known the event was going to be as small as it was, I would have brought a better camera.
Here is a link to a video of Biden's speech, if you are interested. They scan the crowd a few times, so you can see how this event was tightly organized.
