My adorable rep, Thaddeus McCotter, is so concerned about decorum and polite behavior, if you recall he felt it was vitally important to introduce a bill demanding Obama's apology for calling a policeman's behavior "stupid" in the Gates case. So I feel quite sure that my pearl-clutching rep will overcome his vapors in time to lead a call for the censure of Joe Wilson, right? RIGHT?
Here's the email I sent him late last night. Just thought I'd share it with y'all.:) --------------------- To the Honorable Thaddeus McCotter:
Please take action to censure Representative Joe Wilson after his despicable behavior at tonight's speech by the president to a Joint Session of Congress. To call the president a liar in such a setting shows a breathtaking lack of decorum and must be dealt with most severely.
While I welcome healthy disagreement in the House, no member of Congress can be allowed to call the president a liar on the floor of the House when the president is making such a speech. You demonstrated your concern for name calling with regard to the Cambridge police, so I am certain you can see the value of chastisement here as well.
I await your personal action on this issue.
Sincerely, (my real name) Your Constituent
